Panaz Fabrics Chosen for Exclusive Underground London Suites
Club Quarters Lincoln’s Inn Fields property in central London recently undertook a significant transformation of dormant back-of-house basement areas to create a unique suite of revenue-generating guestrooms.
The key challenge for MAAPS was to design a space which allowed customers to forget they were living, working, and sleeping two levels below-ground in windowless rooms. MAAPS tapped into its past maritime design experience to capture the feel of a luxury in-board cabin, installing clever lighting, and fixtures and fittings, and a cool tonal palette of materials.
Panaz was chosen as one of MAAPS core fabric partners for this project, given its elegant classic design, quality of feel, and contract durability. Oasis Fever and Artisan Landscape, in pewter and gunmetal tones, were chosen to reinforce the calming, reassuring, ambience we desired for the guests. These principle fabric elements were applied to the bespoke sofa’s and acoustic head board panels respectively. This carefully detailed and executed design project received international recognition, selected as finalists in the both the 2017 SBID & IH&PA awards categories for hotel suites.
Peter Mance, Principal of MAAPS Design and Architecture, has worked alongside Club Quarters for 20 years; partnering with the business hotel brand on their first London property in 1998.
