Panaz Recognised for Resilience and Reinvention
Technical textile manufacturers Panaz are among an exclusive group of businesses named in Forbes Solicitors’ Reinvention & Resilience Top 50 List. The report features companies from the North West which have shown an exceptional response during the pandemic, through innovation and diversification.
Hapton-based Panaz were selected among the Top 50 as a result of their ability to meet the rapid rising demand for antimicrobial protection across the sectors they supply, and the effective adaptation of their business strategy to satisfy these changes in the market.
Used effectively in the healthcare sector for over 15 years, Panaz’ unique Shieldplus antimicrobial technology was found to be an effective inhibitor of the spread of Covid-19 on contact, when tested by an independent laboratory. As a result, thousands of metres of Panaz’ Aston & Cadet antimicrobial fabrics were used in the furnishing of the NHS Nightingale Hospitals, created in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
As global suppliers of high-performance textiles, Panaz were uniquely able to fulfil these exceptional demands. The extraordinary efforts of Panaz staff were instrumental in the delivery of textiles which would help to protect both patients & staff, and ensuring that the sites could be open and help to treat people as early as possible.
Panaz also showed exceptional reinvention in its introduction of a range of protective antimicrobial applicants, in the form of its new Shieldplus Protect and Laundry products. These applicants provide long lasting antimicrobial protection, using the same technology as Shieldplus textiles, for use as either a surface spray or laundry additive.
Diversifying into a new market is difficult during normal circumstances, but to do so during periods of lockdown and economic uncertainty shows Panaz’ commitment to innovation and the trust the brand has cultivated over its three decades of operation. Shieldplus Protect and Laundry are being quickly adopted into the cleaning regimen of healthcare and hospitality facilities alike, helping to restore confidence in sectors hit hardest by the pandemic, including care facilities, high street retailers and the UK’s largest hotel chains.
In being able to remain operational throughout the lockdown periods, becoming key suppliers for NHS initiatives and pivoting into new sectors, Panaz have not only been able to protect jobs, but also invest in key areas to ensure future growth of the business. With a recent increase of stocking levels on key products, Panaz have established themselves as Europe’s premier supplier of antimicrobial fabrics and the recent launch of ReMake by Panaz, an online fabric customisation platform, caters to designers who may be sharing their work hours between the office and home.
